Albina Co., Inc. Values Relationships in the Steel Bending Industry
Albina recently created an "Industry Links" page on our new mobile-friendly website. Albina understands and values the relationships that we have in the steel bending industry and we wanted to highlight a few of the companies we deal with on a daily basis who help us provide our customers with the best products and services available. We highlight various steel industry associations such as AISC, NOMMA, PNSFA, Impact and others. We also give a brief description of many of our key Service Centers, Subcontractors, and Specialty Contractors. This page provides a great resource for individuals to learn about all the different aspects that go into the process of bending steel.
Reser's Fine Foods Takes Center Ring at the Portland Rose Parade with Steel Ring of Fire
It is that time of year again where beautiful floats take the streets of Portland, Oregon during the annual Rose Festival Parade. Reser's Fine Foods chose to use curved steel pipe for the feature element of their float during a previous Rose Parade.  Actual flames of fire traveled across the steel ring to create a dazzling visual effect. We are looking forward to the upcoming Rose Parade June 11th, 2016 and hope to assist many more companies and organizations who choose to use curved steel to enhance the aesthetics and visual effects of their floats! Mark your calendars now and come visit us to learn more about our various steel bending methods including induction bending, pyramid rolling, rotary draw bending, cold bending and others. See the amazing curved steel products we are able to produce on our various steel bending equipment. Hope to see you there!
Tube Steel Spiral Stringers Provide Support for Heavy Weight Bearing Spiral Staircase
Albina recently bent tube steel 20” x 8” x .625” wall which will provide the base supports for a heavy weight bearing spiral staircase.  The tube steel was spiral bent the easy way using our induction heat source and increment bend method. The tube steel was bent down to a 7’ 7” center line (plan view) radius and all bends were to AESS standards. Albina also bent tube steel 20” x 12” x .625” wall for a different section of the spiral staircase.  The tube steel was spiral bent the easy way also using our induction heat source and increment bend method. The 20" x 12" material was bent down to a 13’ 9” center line (plan view) radius and all bends were to AESS standards. The specifications to bend to a center line radius this tight is almost unheard of! Albina was able to bend per the customers specifications and provide an exceptional quality product! Excellence in Curved Steel
Albina has done it again! Another example of the quality in workmanship we provide and another satisfied customer! "Albina is our preferred vendor for all things heavy requiring rolling and or forming. Rest assured, I have nothing but admiration for Albina’s ability and workmanship, QC, QA, and logistics. I have also developed a great relationship and trust your team. I look very forward to working with you again. As far as we are concerned, you have not competition!"
Curved Steel Wide Flange Bent to an Extremely Tight Radius
We have done it again! Albina continues to "Bend the Rules" of the steel bending process to continue to provide bends that are extremely difficult to our customer base. Albina recently rolled wide flange W8x24# the hardway to a 4 foot inside radius to AESS standards! This is an extremely tight radius to bend to and our operators bent it to perfection! Bending Steel Tubes for Race Cars
Albina bent several steel tubes for the car that won 2015 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Open Class Division.  The bent steel tubes are covered by the exterior shell of the car, but you can see an image of the car below. Curved Steel Provides Eye Catching Roof Structure for Religious Building
Albina Co., Inc. recently bent various pieces of tube steel to form an eye catching curved roof structure for a religious building in Lodi, California. The material consisted of tube steel 16" X 4" X .500" WALL A500 GR B bent the easy way to a tightest radius of 9’ 6 1/8” centerline radius and tube steel 14" X 4" X .375" WALL A500 GR B bent the easy way to a tightest radius of 12’ 0 ¼” centerline radius. Curved Steel Beams Provide Structural Support for Elevated Track
Track season is in full swing and did you know that our curved steel members are used to create many of the elevated tracks that reside in recreational facilities and fitness centers around the country? Albina Co., Inc. bent several pieces of large wide flange W33 x 169# that provided the curved structural supports for the elevated track frame for the Fitness Center at Eielson Airforce Base. Updated Pictures for Curved Steel Spheres in Seattle, WA.
The erection of the curved steel "Spheres" in Seattle, Washington is complete. Check out the completed pictures below. As a reminder, Albina’s scope of work included approximately 750,000# and 1.050 pieces of rectangular tube steel bent the easy way and a portion bent off-axis. The material was bent to tight tolerances and bent to AESS standards. The amount of welds and grinding was significant, but thanks to Albina’s ability to bend portions of the project, a significant amount of welding and grinding was avoided. Almost NO correction was needed during fabrication or erection as the bends fit to fixtures (fabrication) within 1/32nd of an inch! Check back for more pictures as the project progresses!
