Albina Co., Inc. is a world leader in helical bending.  Helical bent items are typically used as spiral stringers in “spiral” staircase projects.  The sections that Albina bends are for the stringer supports in a staircase for both residential and commercial construction projects.  The stringers Albina provides are unique in that we are not limited in size of material we work with nor the type of material.  We also do not “stuff” the stringer material with other “filler” type materials (which drastically increases the weight of your final product) to successfully bend.  We are able to bend all of our materials empty and are still able to contain distortion, crush and deformation- offering the highest quality end product in the industry.  We can bend HSS (square or rectangular material), Channel and Pipe from the smallest members to some of the largest sections available. In fact, we have provided stringers bent out of TS 20” x 12” x .500” material. Albina can also help with your fabrication needs! Albina Co., has two feature national ads in two of the industries most well known publications during the month of July. Albina is a member of NOMMA (National Ornamental and Misc. School construction this time of year is always very busy. Albina has been fortunate to work on a number of national school projects. These projects consist of anything from improvements on existing schools to new construction. We were recently awarded the contract for bending all of the wide flange for the Pueblo West High School out of Pueblo, Colorado. This project includes 27,000# of wide flange all being bent the easy way by Albina, material consisting of W12 x 26#, W12 x 335#, W14 x 34# and W24 x 76#. Albina Co., Inc. recently provided curved steel pipe bends for four conical precast columns located on the Plano Street Bridge over the Tule River in Porterville, CA.

Albina Co., Inc. is in the process of developing an online ordering program for Duct System and Component Parts. Albina's number one goal is to provide superior customer service and an online ordering program will streamline your ordering process. The reemergence of the sunshine and warm weather in Oregon has seemed to also generate some very large Structural Steel, Plate, Pipe, Square and Rectangular tubing projects.  Many of these projects also include some supplemental fabrication work.  Supplemental fabrication projects typically involve bent materials that are then welded, drilled, trimmed, etc (i.e. value added services).  We provide these services to allow our customers (typically fabricators or manufactures) to cut one PO and not have to worry about processing secondary processes in their busy shops.  Albina has been proactive in our facility planning to allow for this surge of work.  We recently purchased another building that is being erected on our property.  This building will act as storage for work in process materials and projects.  Storing material outside our main facility will free up valuable manufacturing space for some of our massive summer / fall curved steel projects. We are always trying to stay one step ahead of demand to continue to bring our customers the exceptional service they have grown accustomed to.

World of Speed, a nonprofit experiential motor sports exposition, purchased an 80,000 square foot building in Wilsonville, Oregon as the permanent home for an auto racing and performance car tourism destination and an auto industry educational program. A local contractor partnered with Albina Co., Inc. to have us bend the curved steel canopy on the top of the building. Materials consisted of 6" SCH80 A53B rolled to a 48’ 4” center-line-radius. The customer will net 78’ 4” of bent material. All roll material is Architecturally Exposed Structural Steel. In the June edition of Metal Architecture The AIA (American Institute of Architects) and its Committee on the Environment (COTE) selected the top 10 examples of sustainable architecture and ecological design projects to be honored at the AIA National Convention this weekend. Albina Co., Inc. was the bender/roller for the exterior curved tube steel on the facade of the Edith Green-Wendell Wyatt Federal Building in Portland, Oregon. Zachs.com published an article yesterday indicating that the Steel Industry is showing resilience and that the continued need for urbanization and industrialization will continue to drive demand for steel in the years to come.
